Bone mass does not differ in microscopic colitis patients, with or without known risk factors for osteoporosis. There was one low trauma fracture among patients with microscopic colitis; therefore, it was not possible to perform comparisons with regard to this risk factor. The black line signifies the normal value for bone mineral density. (BMD: bone mineral density, OP: osteoporosis; results are presented as g/cm2, numbers situated above the bars represent the level of significance between patients with or without risk factors. Paired and independent sample Student's t-test were applied for statistical analysis.)
