Prevotella stimulate the release of IL‐1β and IL-12 by dendritic cells (DC) through TLR2, which in turn mediates IL‐17 and IFN-γ production by Th17 and Th1 cells. Dysbiosis‐associated increase in Th17 and Th1 immune responses may affect ulcerative colitis
