Measurements were made every 12 hours such that each data point represents the food intake (A) or fecal output (B) corresponding to the preceding scotophase or photophase. Bars along the abscissa indicate scotophase. Endotoxin (0.1 mg/kg, solid line) or carrier (dashed line) was administered by intraperitoneal injection at time 0 (arrow). Data points are presented as mean ± SEM (n = 9 mice per group). * P = 0.02 vs. control at corresponding time point by repeated measures ANOVA and Fisher's PLSD.
