UPGMA dendrogram illustrating the correlation between the different denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) profiles from lactobacillus community obtained from the samples of the SHIME ®  compartments supplemented with the L. acidophilus CRL 1014 strain throughout model operation. Sequence characterization of the excised fragments indicated the presence of lac 1, L. acidophilus; lac 2, Lactobacillus casei; lac 3, Lactobacillus johnsonii and Lac 4, Lactobacillus sakei. R3: ascending colon, R4: transverse colon, R5: descending colon.
