Effect of treatment with anti-HMGB1 antibody or sham IgG on pathology in mice with ALI. Hematoxylin-eosin staining was assessed 24 and 48 h after induction of ALI (or sham procedure). Method and treatment were the same as described in Figure 2 (n = 6 for each group at 24 h time point; at 48 h time point, n = 9 for the sham IgG group, n = 10 for the anti-HMGB1 group and n = 6 for the control group).
