Proportion of Medication Usage Among MC and No MC Cohorts. The plot above illustrates the relative proportion of medication users between microscopic colitis (MC) and no MC cohorts. MC was significantly associated with increased use of aspirin (p < 0.05), other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (p < 0.05) or both (p < 0.001) and decreased use of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors (p < 0.05). NSAIDs: non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, PPIs: proton pump inhibitors, H2RAs: histamine-2 receptor antagonists, SSRIs: selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, ACE-Is: angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, ARBs: angiotensin receptor blockers
