Preparation of the LBC sample with a schematic illustration. First, pancreatic juice was centrifuged, and the supernatant was discarded. The material was then suspended in fixative (CytoRichâ„¢ RED). Next, the suspension was centrifuged, and the supernatant was discarded. The material was suspended in distilled water. Third, the cell suspension was poured onto a precoated slide equipped with a settling chamber. The cells became attached to the slide glass by the charge and gravity. LBC, liquid-based cytology
