The recurrence rate of esophageal varices was shown during the follow-up period. The total recurrent esophageal varice was 93.5%. It revealed 58.2%, 35.3% within 1, 3 years, respectively, following the endoscopic esophageal varice eradication(a). The patients in the EVL group showed significantly shorter time of recurrence, compared with the EIS group as well as EIS + EVL group (b)
