Kaplan-Meier survival curves of the patients with cholangiocarcinoma recurrence after curative resection. The patients who underwent surgical resection for recurrent cholangiocarcinoma had a significantly better survival curve than those who did not undergo surgical resection for recurrent cholangiocarcinoma. Among patients without surgical treatment for recurrent cholangiocarcinoma, the survival curve of patients who had received palliative chemotherapy was better than that of patients without palliative chemotherapy (p < 0.0001)
