  1. The quantitative insulin sensitivity check index = 1/log (fasting insulin) + log (fasting glucose). A value < 0.3 indicates insulin resistance; values from 0.348 to 0.430 are normal, and values ≥ 3.0 indicate high insulin sensitivity (type 1 diabetes mellitus). Index values < 0.3 (insulin resistance) are in bold. Each group contained five mice. W weeks, MF standard diet, HFCD high-fat choline-deficient diet, DEN diethylnitrosamine, N.D not determined
