Effect of ketotifen on Na-glutamine co-transport in BBMV. A, Villus cells. Na-dependent glutamine uptake was significantly decreased in villus cell BBMV from the chronically inflamed intestine and this inhibition was reversed with ketotifen treatment. B, Crypt cells. Na-dependent glutamine uptake was significantly increased in crypt cell BBMV during chronic intestinal inflammation and this stimulation was reversed by ketotifen treatment.
