Effect of lafutidine (30 mg/kg) and cimetidine (10 mg/kg), relative to vehicle, on (A) macroscopic gastric mucosal injury (expressed as a percentage of the area of the glandular mucosa), (B) intragastric acidity (acid equivalents in mmol) and (C) weight of gastric content (g/kg body weight) measured immediately (0 min), 60 and 120 min after exposure of the stomach to HCl (0.25 M). Lafutidine, cimetidine or vehicle was administered by gastric gavage 30 min before administration of HCl.
