The RVS system consists of a main unit, a magnetic location detector unit, a magnetic field generator and a magnetic sensor. The sensor precisely and consistently captures changes in magnetic fields produced by the generator and detects changes in the location, direction, and rotation of the transducer scanning the patient. The detector instantaneously processes changes in positional information detected by the magnetic sensor and transfers this information to the main unit. The RVS main unit generates and displays real-time MPR images matching cross-sectional images of the abdomen captured by the transducer.
