Differentiated neurons in LM-MP treated ES-NS exhibit a more complex and mature morphology than control neurons. Morphology of neurons is shown by immunoreactivity for the neuronal markers peripherin (red, A-B) and βIII-tubulin (red, C-D) in ES-NS co-cultured with LM-MP (B, D) or control (A, C). Neurons arising from ES-NS exposed to LM-MP show pronounced processes and form a network-like structure, whereas control neurons show either absence of neuritogenesis (A) or shorter blunt processes (C) white arrowheads. Nuclei are counterstained with DAPI (blue). Calibration bars = 25 μm.
