The impact of K8 R341H variant on development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) (A) and on non-HCC-related liver mortality (B) was studied in subjects with alcoholic liver cirrhosis using the Kaplan–Meier method. While K8 R341H variant was not associated with HCC development (log-rank =0.7), patients carrying K8 R341H variant displayed a trend towards increased end-stage liver disease mortality (HR=2.0 [0.8-5.0], log-rank=0.1).Back to article page
